The window is one of the most important composition of the railway passenger car, which can be divided into four categories according to the form: belt type with bonded window, rubber strip type, non-unit combination window, unit combination window. Belt type with bonded window is made of glass glued to the perimeter of the window of the passenger car. The window is mainly used for passenger cars with a speed of 160 km / h or more. Rubber strip type is mainly used in the early double layer passenger cars and a small number of dining cars and buses. The structure are relatively simple and the quantity is small for belt type with bonded window and rubber strip type. This article mainly talks about the non-unit and unit combination window.


1. non-unit and unit combination window

the two types windows can be divided into two categories: one is fixed type (hereinafter referred to as "fixed window") and another is movable type (hereinafter referred to as "active window") according to outside breathable condition.

 

Fixed window composition is comparatively simple, mainly composed of window frame, glass, sealing tape and so on. The structure of the active window is relatively complex, additionally with hands, window lock, opening and closing balanced mechanisms, etc.

Non-unit combination window is only typically with dropping window. The unit combination window is divided into three types: under-spring window, uplifting window and inverting windows


2. structure features and maintenance

l Dropping window only used on the 22 passenger car, its disadvantage is that the balanced mechanism - the spring reed is easy to break, overload maintenance work, poor effect of single layer glass insulation and antifreeze, window frame is easily corroded.

 

l Under-spring window mainly used in 22B refurbished car, 25B non-air-conditioned passenger car, and 22-type refurbished car. The window size of the 22-type refurbished car is slightly small, but the structure is the same.

The maintenance procedures and concerns are:

(1) Decomposition of the window.

(2) Window Overhaul:

1 remove dirt from glass and window frame;

2 window frame defect repair, deformation repair and polishing;

3 window frame artistic processing;

 

l Uplifting window is widely used to install on the air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned vehicles, also become one of most the popular car window types. K87, KC3 window is mature products of the uplifting window, mainly used for 25G air-conditioned passenger cars, A few are installed on the non-air-conditioned passenger car.

The maintenance procedures and concerns are:

(1) Decomposition of the window : decompose all parts and ensure that the original window of the accessory is replaced.


(2) window maintenance:

1 frame defect welding repair, deformation adjustment and polishing;

2 Plug the balancer mounting hole to solve the problem that different manufacturers install

balancer with inconsistent hole spacing;

3 accessories repair;

4 window frame artistic processing; 


(3) Insulating glass production

Inverting window is used in double-deck passenger cars, like 25G, 25K and 25T air-conditioned passenger car. Rollover window eliminates the balanced mechanism with simpler structure and less maintenance work.
